The Urology Residency Program at Wayne State University School of Medicine is a five-year program that provides comprehensive clinical and surgical training in urology. The program begins with six months of General Surgery and six months of Urology during the first year, followed by four years of dedicated urology training. Residents gain progressive experience in urologic oncology, endourology, open and robotic surgery, reconstructive urology, pediatric urology, and female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery. Training is provided across multiple affiliated hospitals, giving residents exposure to diverse patient populations and a wide range of urologic conditions and procedures. The program also supports research, academic development and preparation for independent urology practice or fellowship training.
