Urology Residency Program

1. Applicants must hold a medical degree from an accredited medical school.
2. Applicants must submit three letters of recommendation.
3. Applicants must provide a curriculum vitae, personal statement, medical school transcripts, and the Dean’s Letter.
4. Applicants must provide their United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) Step 1 score.
5. International medical graduates must meet the applicable eligibility and documentation requirements for residency training in the United States.
6. Applicants must meet the University of California San Diego’s graduate medical education appointment requirements.

The five-year training pathway includes one year of general surgery followed by specialized urology training, allowing residents to develop progressive clinical and operative responsibilities under faculty supervision. The program provides exposure to a broad range of urological conditions and prepares residents for independent clinical practice or further subspecialty fellowship training.
