About Course

The Integrated Interventional Radiology/Diagnostic Radiology (IR/DR) Residency at UMass Chan Medical School is a 6-year program combining comprehensive diagnostic radiology training with advanced interventional radiology education. Residents develop expertise in diagnostic imaging and image-guided minimally invasive procedures, with progressive hands-on clinical responsibility. Training includes vascular and nonvascular interventions, CT, ultrasound, fluoroscopy and angiography, along with multidisciplinary patient care, research and teaching opportunities.

Admission Process

Apply through ERAS for the Integrated IR/DR Residency
Submit the required application materials, including academic records, USMLE/COMLEX scores, CV, personal statement and letters of recommendation
Applicants are reviewed by the program and selected candidates are invited for an interview
Participate in the NRMP Match, if the program participates in the applicable Match
After matching, complete UMass Chan GME credentialing, Massachusetts licensure, employee-health clearance and appointment requirements before starting residency
