Residency in Integrated Interventional Radiology

The Integrated Interventional Radiology Residency Program at UCSF School of Medicine is a comprehensive 5-year training program that combines diagnostic radiology and interventional radiology into a single pathway. The curriculum begins with core training in imaging modalities such as CT, MRI, ultrasound, and X-ray, followed by advanced, hands-on experience in minimally invasive image-guided procedures including vascular interventions, oncology treatments, and emergency interventions. Residents gain strong clinical exposure through multidisciplinary care, outpatient clinics, and inpatient services, while also participating in research and academic activities. The program emphasizes patient-centered care, procedural expertise, and innovation, preparing graduates for independent practice or further subspecialty training in interventional radiology.
