The Pediatric Residency Program at UNC School of Medicine (UNCSOM), Chapel Hill is a three-year ACGME-accredited residency program designed to provide comprehensive training in the care of infants, children, and adolescents. The program offers extensive clinical experience through rotations in general pediatrics, newborn care, pediatric emergency medicine, pediatric intensive care, and multiple pediatric subspecialties at UNC Children’s Hospital and affiliated healthcare facilities. Residents develop expertise in preventive care, acute and chronic disease management, developmental and behavioral pediatrics, and family-centered healthcare. The curriculum emphasizes clinical excellence, evidence-based medicine, research, quality improvement, advocacy, and professional development, preparing graduates for careers in general pediatrics, pediatric subspecialty fellowship training, academic medicine, and community pediatric practice.
