Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery Residency Program

The Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery Residency Program at UMass Chan Medical School is a 5-year ACGME-approved residency designed to provide comprehensive clinical and surgical training in otolaryngology. Residents gain experience in head and neck cancer surgery, endocrine surgery, transoral robotic and laser surgery, reconstructive and free-flap surgery, pediatric otolaryngology, complex airway management, neurotology and skull-base surgery, laryngology, sleep surgery, rhinology and endoscopic skull-base surgery. Training is primarily conducted at UMass Memorial Medical Center, with additional rotations at Boston Children’s Hospital, including three months each during PGY-2 and PGY-3. The program also provides dedicated research and academic time during PGY-3 and PGY-4

1. Submit the completed application through ERAS
2. Submit the required USMLE transcript, MSPE, medical school transcript, personal statement and photograph
3. Submit 3 letters of recommendation
4. Provide ECFMG Certificate if applicable
5. Provide citizenship/visa status
6. All required documents must be submitted through ERAS; applications outside ERAS are not accepted
7. Selected applicants are invited for the residency interview
8. Applicants participate in the applicable residency Match process
9. Successful candidates must complete UMass Chan GME credentialing, Massachusetts licensure and employee-health requirements before starting residency
