The Neurology Residency Program at the University of Florida (UF) College of Medicine in Gainesville provides comprehensive postgraduate training in the diagnosis and management of neurological disorders, with integrated training in epilepsy and electroencephalography (EEG). The University of Florida College of Medicine offers medical education, clinical care, and research opportunities. Its Department of Neurology provides residents with supervised clinical experience across inpatient services, outpatient clinics, and specialized neurological care settings. The program includes two dedicated four-week epilepsy rotations, covering EEG interpretation, seizure recognition, status epilepticus management, epilepsy monitoring unit procedures, and the evaluation of complex and drug-resistant epilepsy. Residents also receive introductory epilepsy training during their first week, attend regular teaching conferences, and may pursue additional electives or research in epilepsy. The curriculum aims to develop strong clinical skills and prepare residents for independent neurology practice or further subspecialty training.
