Fellowship Program in Breast Imaging

The Breast Imaging Fellowship at UMass Chan Medical School provides advanced training in comprehensive breast imaging and image-guided breast procedures. Fellows gain extensive experience in screening and diagnostic mammography, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, stereotactic biopsy, ultrasound-guided biopsy, MRI-guided biopsy and needle localization procedures. The program offers training in a high-volume breast imaging service with multidisciplinary exposure to the evaluation and management of breast disease.

1. Complete a Radiology residency.
2. Confirm eligibility for ABR certification and Massachusetts medical licensure.
3. Prepare the required application documents:
4. UMass/Universal application form
5. CV
6. Personal statement
7. 3 letters of recommendation, including one from the Radiology Residency Program Director
8. USMLE transcript
9. ECFMG certificate, if applicable
4. Submit the application materials electronically to RadiologyFellowship@umassmed.edu.
5. The program reviews applications once all required materials are received.
6. Eligible candidates are considered for an interview.
7. Participate in the applicable NRMP Match/selection process.
8. Complete UMass GME credentialing and Massachusetts licensing requirements before joining.
