Fellowship Program in Breast Imaging

The Breast Imaging Fellowship at the UC Irvine School of Medicine is a one-year advanced radiology training program designed to provide comprehensive expertise in breast imaging, with focused hands-on experience in mammography, breast ultrasound, and breast MRI, along with image-guided interventional procedures such as biopsies and needle localizations; the program emphasizes accurate diagnosis and early detection of breast diseases, particularly breast cancer, while integrating multidisciplinary collaboration with oncology and surgical teams, structured teaching sessions, case-based learning, and exposure to high-volume clinical practice, enabling fellows to develop strong diagnostic, procedural, and clinical decision-making skills for careers in academic or specialized breast radiology practice
