The Fellowship Program in Breast Imaging at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine is a one-year Advanced Specialty Training Program offered through the Department of Radiology at the renowned Lynn Sage Comprehensive Breast Center, one of the largest and most advanced breast imaging centers in the United States. Fellows receive comprehensive clinical training in all aspects of breast imaging, including digital mammography, digital breast tomosynthesis, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, and image-guided interventional procedures such as stereotactic, ultrasound-guided, and MRI-guided biopsies. The center performs more than 90,000 breast imaging examinations annually, providing fellows with exceptional exposure to both routine and complex breast diseases. The curriculum includes dedicated rotations in diagnostic imaging, screening, breast MRI, interventions, and academic activities. Fellows participate in weekly multidisciplinary breast cancer conferences, radiology-pathology correlation meetings, journal clubs, morbidity and mortality conferences, and structured didactic lectures. Elective rotations in breast pathology and breast surgery further enhance multidisciplinary learning. The fellowship also promotes scholarly research, medical student education, and attendance at the annual Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) meeting, preparing graduates for successful careers in academic breast imaging and high-volume clinical practice.
