Fellowship in Vascular Neurology

The Vascular Neurology Fellowship at the University of Minnesota Medical School provides comprehensive training in the diagnosis and management of cerebrovascular diseases and stroke. Fellows train at a comprehensive stroke center and a thrombectomy-capable hospital, with exposure to acute stroke care, telestroke, neurocritical care, neuroendovascular procedures, stroke prevention, and inpatient and outpatient stroke management. The program also includes weekly stroke and neurocritical care didactics, endovascular and neuroradiology conferences, and opportunities to participate as co-investigators in major national and international stroke clinical trials. Qualified fellows may also combine the fellowship with an NIH Stroke Network research fellowship or Endovascular Surgical Neuroradiology training.

2. Register with the NRMP (National Resident Matching Program).
3. Indicate the Vascular Neurology training track(s) of interest in the ERAS application.

8. USMLE/COMLEX score reports for Steps/Parts 1, 2 and 3

5. Competitive applicants are invited for a virtual interview with the Program Director and selected faculty, fellows, and/or APPs.
6. Interviews are generally conducted between January and March.
7. Positions are filled through the NRMP Match, with Match Day in mid-May.
