The Vascular Neurology Fellowship at the University of Illinois College of Medicine (UICOM), Chicago is a one-year ACGME-accredited fellowship program designed to provide advanced training in the evaluation, treatment, and prevention of cerebrovascular diseases, including ischemic stroke, hemorrhagic stroke, and other neurovascular disorders. The fellowship offers extensive clinical exposure to complex stroke cases through collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of stroke neurologists, neurointensivists, neuroradiologists, neurointerventionalists, and neurosurgeons. Fellows receive specialized training in acute stroke management, advanced neuroimaging, neurointerventional procedures, neurosonology, telestroke services, neurorehabilitation, and longitudinal outpatient stroke care. As part of a comprehensive stroke center, the program also provides opportunities to participate in clinical trials, quality improvement initiatives, educational activities, and research projects, preparing fellows for independent clinical practice and leadership roles in vascular neurology.
