Fellowship in Rheumatology

• Must hold an MD, DO, or MD/PhD degree from an accredited medical school.
• Must have completed an accredited internship before fellowship enrollment.
• Must have completed an accredited Internal Medicine residency before the fellowship start date.
• Must be eligible to apply through ERAS and participate in the NRMP Specialties Matching Service (SMS).
• Applicants are selected through a competitive selection process.

The Johns Hopkins Rheumatology Fellowship Program is a two-year ACGME-accredited fellowship designed to train future leaders in rheumatology through comprehensive clinical, educational, and research experiences. The program provides rigorous training in the diagnosis and management of rheumatic diseases, exposure to nationally recognized Centers of Excellence, and personalized mentorship from internationally renowned faculty. Fellows gain extensive experience across two major teaching hospitals—The Johns Hopkins Hospital and Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center—while participating in disease-specific clinics, musculoskeletal ultrasound training, scholarly activities, and multidisciplinary research. An optional third year is available through the NIH T32 research program for fellows pursuing careers in academic medicine and research, allowing advanced training in research methodology and mentored investigative projects tailored to individual career goals.
