The Pediatric Surgery Fellowship at UCSF School of Medicine is a 2-year fellowship conducted at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital San Francisco and Oakland. The program provides comprehensive training in pediatric surgery, with strong exposure to neonatal surgery, minimally invasive surgery, fetal care, pediatric surgical oncology, and pediatric trauma. The first year includes rotations in the NICU, PICU, and Urology, with an additional elective in areas such as cardiothoracic, neurological, orthopedic, otolaryngology, anesthesia, vascular, or transplant surgery. The second year focuses entirely on general pediatric surgery. Fellows also have opportunities to participate in clinical, translational, and basic science research, with particular emphasis on fetal surgery, minimally invasive surgery, trauma, and surgical innovation.
