Fellowship In Pediatric Pulmonology

The Pediatric Pulmonology Fellowship Program at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is a three-year ACGME-approved subspecialty fellowship program designed to provide advanced clinical, research, and academic training in the evaluation and management of respiratory disorders affecting infants, children, and adolescents. The program provides comprehensive exposure to pediatric pulmonary diseases including asthma, sleep apnea, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, tuberculosis, airway abnormalities, obesity-related respiratory conditions, and other acute and chronic lung diseases. Fellows receive hands-on training in pulmonary function testing, bronchoscopy, sleep medicine, cardiopulmonary exercise testing, and multidisciplinary respiratory care through clinical services at Children’s Hospital at Downstate, Kings County Hospital Center, and affiliated clinics. The fellowship combines clinical rotations with dedicated research experiences, scholarly activities, teaching opportunities, and preparation for American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) certification in Pediatric Pulmonology, preparing graduates for careers in academic medicine and specialized pediatric pulmonary practice.
