Fellowship In Pediatric Pulmonology

Applicants should have MD / DNB in Pediatrics or equivalent / DCH with Two Years of experience.

The course syllabus, protocols and teaching program designed by Department of Pediatric Pulmonology, IGICH with reference to guidelines of Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP), European Respiratory Society (ERS) and American Thoracic Society (ATS). The course is a full time work, fellows will not be allow to work elsewhere. The fellows will be required to teach Pediatric Pulmonology (Theory and Case based) periodically to trainees of MD/ DNB/ DCH courses.

Departmental Activities:

• Out-Patient and In-Patient care of respiratory patients - Daily
• Journal review meeting: Once a week
• Seminars: Once a week
• Participation in Conferences/ Paper Presentations: at National & State conferences once a year, International Conference once a year.

Interdepartmental Teaching/ Rotation:

• Pediatric Intensive Care (PICU)
• Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU)
• Pediatric Endocrinology
• Pediatric Neurology
• Pediatric Genetics
• Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology

Research & Publication:

• One study undertaken (dissertation) to be presented at the end of the year in the department
• Publish papers in National and International journals
• Interdepartmental research activities

Scheme of Examination: (Total 400 marks)

• Written: includes 2 theory papers 100 marks each. Two long essays (20 marks each) and remaining six short essays (10 marks each).
• Practical: 2 Cases - 75 marks each
• VIVA VOCE: 50 marks

Candidates will be selected from 4 members panel by interview (Approved by RGUHS). If necessary, entrance test will be conducted. Preference will be given to candidates having three years of experience in Pediatric Pulmonology after post graduation.

Copies of certificates to be enclosed with application (Originals at the time of Interview):

2. SSLC Marks card.
3. MBBS Degree Certificate and marks cards for all the four years.
4. MD / DNB Pediatrics Certificates / Marks card / Convocation Certificates
5. KMC Registration Certificate(updated qualification)
6. Application of in-service candidates should be routed through proper channel only.
7. Experience Certificate if any.

In the event of the candidate leaving the course by discountenance or otherwise and thus failing to complete course;

1. The fee paid by candidate will not be refunded.
2. The stipend drawn by the candidate from the Institute during the period of the Fellowship program to be paid to Institute.
