Fellowship In Pediatric Pulmonology

1. MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
2. Completed Pediatrics residency training accredited by ACGME
3. Passing USMLE/COMLEX licensing examinations
4. ECFMG certification (if applicable)
5. Pennsylvania medical licensure eligibility
6. Submission of application materials (CV, personal statement, letters of recommendation)
7. Participation in interview and selection process (through ERAS or matched pediatric subspecialty match process).

The Pediatric Pulmonology Fellowship at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children is an ACGME-accredited three-year subspecialty training program designed to prepare physicians for careers in pediatric respiratory medicine, clinical care, and academic leadership. The fellowship provides broad clinical exposure across a wide range of pulmonary diseases and conditions — including asthma, cystic fibrosis, chronic lung disease of infancy and childhood, sleep-related breathing disorders, and complex airway abnormalities. Training includes participation in a fully accredited Cystic Fibrosis Center, outpatient pulmonary clinics, sleep center activities, and flexible bronchoscopy programs with advanced diagnostic capabilities. Fellows also learn comprehensive pulmonary function testing, cardiopulmonary testing, exercise testing, and sweat testing. The program emphasizes rigorous clinical training, multidisciplinary collaboration, and education in research design and evidence-based practice to equip graduates with the skills needed to succeed in clinical and academic pulmonology.
