Fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care

• Completion of Pediatrics Residency (ACGME-accredited or equivalent)
• Board-eligible or board-certified in Pediatrics
• Valid medical degree (MD/DO or equivalent)
• ECFMG certification required for international applicants
• Eligible for U.S. training/licensure (Maryland medical license eligibility)
• Submission of letters of recommendation, transcripts & Dean’s letter
• Must be eligible for visa sponsorship (if applicable)
• Strong clinical background with interest in pediatric critical care

The Pediatric Critical Care Fellowship at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine is a rigorous 3-year program designed to train physicians in the comprehensive management of critically ill infants, children, and adolescents. It provides extensive hands-on experience in a high-acuity Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), where fellows manage complex medical and surgical cases, including trauma, transplant, and multi-organ failure. The program emphasizes advanced clinical skills such as mechanical ventilation, ECMO, neurocritical care, and renal support, while also integrating research, teaching, and leadership development. Fellows work closely with multidisciplinary teams and gain exposure to cutting-edge technologies and evidence-based practices, preparing them for careers in academic medicine, pediatric critical care leadership, and specialized clinical practice.
