Fellowship in Nephrology

• Must hold an MD, DO, or equivalent medical degree.
• Must have successfully completed an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency before fellowship enrollment.
• International Medical Graduates must have a valid ECFMG certificate (if applicable).
• Must be eligible to apply through ERAS and participate in the NRMP Match.
• Applicants should demonstrate a strong interest in nephrology, patient care, education, or research.

The Nephrology Fellowship Program is a 2-year ACGME-accredited fellowship designed to train physicians in clinical nephrology, kidney transplantation, dialysis, and academic research. Fellows receive comprehensive training through inpatient nephrology services, renal transplantation, outpatient continuity clinics, kidney biopsy, dialysis access procedures, point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS), and elective rotations. During the second year, fellows pursue one of four career-focused tracks—Clinical Practice, Clinical/Epidemiological Investigation, Clinician Education, or Basic Science—with opportunities for an optional third year dedicated to advanced research and career development. The program emphasizes rigorous clinical training, innovation, mentorship, and scholarly excellence to prepare graduates for careers in academic medicine and clinical nephrology.
