Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology

The Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at UCSF School of Medicine is a one-year advanced clinical fellowship designed to provide comprehensive training in invasive cardiovascular procedures and complex interventional therapies. The program focuses on advanced coronary interventions, diagnostic cardiac catheterization, percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), complex and high-risk coronary procedures, structural heart interventions, and peripheral vascular procedures. Fellows receive extensive hands-on training in catheterization laboratories across UCSF Health, San Francisco VA Medical Center, and affiliated clinical sites, while also participating in multidisciplinary cardiovascular care, research, quality improvement activities, and academic education. The fellowship prepares physicians to become skilled interventional cardiologists capable of managing complex cardiovascular diseases and performing advanced catheter-based procedures.

4. Shortlisted candidates are invited for fellowship interviews
5. Register with the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP)
6. Submit rank order list through NRMP
7. Final selection is completed through the NRMP Match process
8. Matched candidates begin the one-year Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at UCSF in July
