The Gastrointestinal Pathology Fellowship at the University of Minnesota is a 1-year clinical training program with an optional additional year for basic science research. Fellows receive high-volume training in luminal GI biopsies and resections, pancreatobiliary specimens, liver biopsies and resections, EUS biopsies, and CT-guided abdominal/GI fine-needle aspiration specimens. The program emphasizes oncologic pathology, transplant medicine, inflammatory bowel disease, molecular pathology, genomics, and cytopathology, with a dedicated translational research month during the clinical year.
