Fellowship Course in Epilepsy

The Epilepsy Fellowship at the University of Minnesota Medical School is a one-year ACGME-accredited program designed to prepare adult and pediatric neurologists for advanced practice in epileptology. Training includes EEG and video-EEG interpretation, seizure diagnosis and management, epilepsy surgery evaluation, intracranial EEG, and neural stimulation therapies. Fellows participate in adult and pediatric epilepsy clinics, inpatient epilepsy services, daily EEG review, and epilepsy surgery conferences, with elective opportunities in areas such as sleep neurology, neuroradiology, and neurocritical care. The program also offers clinical research opportunities in advanced MRI, EEG signal processing, neuromodulation, pharmacotherapeutics, and cognitive-neurobehavioral diagnostics.

1. Apply through AAMC ERAS (Electronic Residency Application Service).
2. Submit a CV.
3. Submit 3 letters of recommendation from faculty/mentors on letterhead with signatures.
4. Submit a personal statement describing interest in the Epilepsy Fellowship/career path.
5. Submit official USMLE or COMLEX score reports.
6. IMG applicants must submit a current ECFMG certificate.
7. Applications are reviewed beginning in December.
8. Competitive applicants are invited for an interview.
9. The program participates in the NRMP Fellowship Match.
10. The application deadline is February 15
