Fellowship Course in Epilepsy

The Epilepsy Fellowship at the University of Illinois College of Medicine (UICOM), Chicago is a one-year advanced subspecialty training program designed for neurologists who want specialized expertise in the diagnosis, evaluation, and management of epilepsy and seizure disorders. The fellowship provides comprehensive clinical training through the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU), outpatient epilepsy clinics, EEG interpretation, and presurgical evaluation of patients with drug-resistant epilepsy. Fellows gain experience in advanced epilepsy care, including seizure classification, video EEG monitoring, epilepsy surgery evaluation, neuromodulation therapies, and multidisciplinary management involving neurology, neurosurgery, neuropsychology, and radiology teams. The program also offers opportunities for clinical research and participation in epilepsy-related academic activities, preparing fellows for independent practice as epilepsy specialists.
