The Cytopathology Fellowship at the University of Colorado Anschutz School of Medicine is a one-year advanced training program in diagnostic cytopathology. The fellowship provides hands-on experience in fine-needle aspiration (FNA) of palpable lesions, immediate interpretation under faculty supervision, and evaluation of a high volume of non-gynecologic cytology specimens, core biopsies and FNA samples. Fellows receive training in rapid on-site evaluation (ROSE), ultrasound-guided endoscopy and bronchoscopy specimens, thyroid nodules and image-guided samples from Interventional Radiology. The program also includes graduated clinical responsibility, teaching of pathology residents and medical students, laboratory management, quality assurance and completion of a scholarly project.
