Eligibility
- Must have a medical degree (MD, DO, or equivalent) before the residency start date
- Medical degree must be from one of the following:
- LCME-accredited medical school (United States or Canada)
- AOA-accredited osteopathic medical school (United States)
- International medical school recognized by the Medical Board of California and FAIMER and listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools
- International Medical Graduates (IMGs) must have a valid ECFMG Certificate at the time of application
- Must have a passing score on USMLE Step I (or NBOME equivalent)
- Must have a passing score on USMLE Step II CK (or NBOME equivalent) before starting the UCSF GME program
- COMLEX scores are accepted for graduates of osteopathic medical schools
- Must meet UCSF Graduate Medical Education (GME) eligibility requirements
- Applicants requiring visa sponsorship must meet UCSF visa policies:
- J-1 visa sponsorship is available
- H-1B visa sponsorship is not available for ACGME trainees
