The Dermatology Residency Program at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC), Memphis, provides comprehensive training in the diagnosis and management of diseases affecting the skin, hair, nails, and mucous membranes. The program includes one year of preliminary training followed by three years of specialized Dermatology training. Residents gain clinical experience in general dermatology, pediatric dermatology, dermatologic surgery, dermatopathology, cutaneous oncology, and cosmetic dermatology. The program also emphasizes patient care, medical knowledge, clinical decision-making, research, professionalism, and communication skills, preparing residents for independent practice and further subspecialty training.
