The Radiation Oncology Residency Program at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine is an ACGME-accredited four-year advanced residency that prepares physicians for careers in academic and clinical radiation oncology. Based at the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center and Northwestern Memorial Hospital, the program offers extensive exposure to modern radiation technologies, multidisciplinary oncology care, and evidence-based cancer management. Residents receive comprehensive training in treatment planning, simulation, image-guided radiation therapy, stereotactic techniques, brachytherapy, proton therapy, radiation physics, and radiobiology. A strong emphasis is placed on scholarly activity, with every resident completing research under faculty mentorship and opportunities to participate in the Physician-Scientist Training Program (PSTP). Graduates are well prepared for certification by the American Board of Radiology and for careers in academic medicine, comprehensive cancer centers, or community oncology practice.
