The Plastic Surgery Residency Program at UC Irvine School of Medicine is a 6-year integrated residency program designed to provide comprehensive training in plastic and reconstructive surgery. The program offers extensive clinical experience in areas including reconstructive surgery, microsurgery, hand and upper extremity surgery, craniofacial surgery, pediatric plastic surgery, breast reconstruction, aesthetic surgery, burn care, trauma reconstruction, and wound management. Residents receive progressive operative training through rotations at UC Irvine Medical Center and affiliated hospitals, gaining expertise in complex surgical procedures and multidisciplinary patient care. The curriculum combines clinical rotations, surgical skills development, research opportunities, didactic conferences, simulation training, and mentorship to prepare residents for independent practice as board-certified plastic surgeons or further subspecialty fellowship training.
