Plastic Surgery Integrated Residency Program

The Plastic Surgery (Integrated) Residency Program at UMass Chan Medical School is a 6-year integrated residency designed to develop competent, compassionate and resilient plastic surgeons with strong capabilities in plastic and reconstructive surgery, microsurgery, hand surgery, craniofacial surgery, breast reconstruction, burn care, wound management and aesthetic surgery. The program also emphasizes research, academic development, teaching, leadership and multidisciplinary patient care, preparing residents for independent practice and academic or leadership careers in plastic and reconstructive surgery.

1. Submit the application through ERAS, if the program participates in ERAS
2. Provide the required application materials, including medical school transcript, examination transcript, personal statement, recommendation letters, ECFMG certificate if applicable, and citizenship/visa information
3. Applications are reviewed by the residency selection committee
4. Selected applicants are invited for an interview
5. Participate in the applicable Plastic Surgery Integrated Residency Match/NRMP process
6. Candidates who match must complete UMass Chan GME credentialing, Massachusetts medical licensing, employee-health clearance and other appointment requirements before starting residency
