The UAB Pediatric Residency Program is a three-year residency providing comprehensive training in general pediatrics through clinical rotations at Children’s of Alabama and affiliated healthcare settings. Residents receive hands-on experience in inpatient and outpatient pediatrics, pediatric emergency medicine, neonatal and pediatric intensive care, adolescent medicine, developmental and behavioral pediatrics, and multiple pediatric subspecialties. The program also includes continuity clinic, community pediatrics, elective rotations, simulation training, research and quality improvement opportunities, multidisciplinary conferences, and board preparation. Residents can further develop their interests through specialized training opportunities in areas such as medical education, health equity, global health, and rural health, preparing them for independent pediatric practice or future fellowship training.
