The Neurology Residency Program at UMass Chan Medical School is a 4-year residency, including a preliminary year of Internal Medicine followed by 36 months of dedicated Neurology training. The curriculum provides comprehensive exposure to inpatient stroke, neurology wards, consultation services, Neuro ICU, EEG, EMG, neurohospitalist care, continuity clinics and subspecialty clinics. Residents also have substantial elective flexibility in areas such as epilepsy, movement disorders, neuromuscular medicine, neuroimmunology, neuro-oncology, neuroradiology, neurosurgery, neurorehabilitation, trauma and global neurology. The program follows an X+Y block schedule separating inpatient and outpatient responsibilities and offers research, clinical educator and global neurology opportunities.
