MD General Medicine

The MD – General Medicine programme at Sri Manakula Vinayagar Medical College and Hospital offers in-depth postgraduate training in the diagnosis and management of a broad spectrum of adult medical conditions. Over the three-year duration, residents receive extensive exposure to outpatient services, inpatient wards, intensive care units, and emergency medicine. Training includes management of cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, neurological, endocrine, renal, infectious, and metabolic disorders. The teaching hospital provides substantial patient inflow, enabling strong hands-on clinical experience under the supervision of experienced faculty. Academic activities such as case presentations, seminars, journal clubs, and dissertation research are integral components of the curriculum. The programme aims to develop competent physicians equipped for independent clinical practice, academic careers, or further super-speciality training.

1. MBBS qualification recognized by the National Medical Commission
2. Completion of compulsory rotating internship on or before the prescribed cutoff date
3. Valid NEET-PG qualification for the relevant admission year
4. Permanent or provisional medical registration certificate
5. Fulfilment of counselling authority and institutional admission requirements
