Overview

Travancore Medical College & Hospital in Kollam, Kerala, is a private, multi-specialty medical institution established in 2009, affiliated with Kerala University of Health Sciences and recognized by the National Medical Commission.

The MD in General Medicine is a three-year postgraduate residency that provides broad, in-depth exposure to internal medicine. Students undergo rigorous clinical training in diagnosing and managing a wide spectrum of medical disorders — from infections and metabolic diseases to cardiovascular, respiratory, gastroenterological, and systemic conditions. The program balances theoretical lectures, case presentations, ward rounds, and intensive clinical postings in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Trainees also participate in emergency medicine rotations, academic activities like seminars and journal clubs, and supervised research projects. On completion, graduates are equipped to work as competent internists in hospitals, clinics, or pursue further specialisation.
