Overview

The MD in General Medicine at MIMER Pune is a rigorous three-year postgraduate clinical program designed to produce competent specialists in internal medicine. It emphasizes core clinical skills such as patient assessment, diagnosis, management of complex medical conditions, interpretation of investigations, and evidence-based therapeutic decisions. Training combines ward rounds, outpatient clinics, case presentations, seminars, journal clubs, and research components under experienced faculty supervision. This course prepares students for independent practice as general physicians, equips them to handle emergency medicine scenarios, and lays a strong foundation for future super-specialization (e.g., DM courses) or academic career paths. General Medicine is one of the quintessential clinical branches and has significant demand in both hospital and community health settings.
