The Interventional Radiology Residency Program at the UC Irvine School of Medicine is a five-year ACGME-accredited integrated training program that develops expertise in both diagnostic and interventional radiology, with the initial years focused on core imaging training (CT, MRI, ultrasound, and fluoroscopy) followed by advanced training in minimally invasive, image-guided procedures; residents gain extensive hands-on experience in vascular and non-vascular interventions, oncology and emergency procedures, along with comprehensive clinical patient management, multidisciplinary collaboration, research exposure, and teaching opportunities, preparing graduates for board certification in Interventional Radiology/Diagnostic Radiology (IR/DR) and leadership roles in modern image-guided therapy.
