Fellowship In Pediatric Pulmonology

1. Applicants must have completed a General Pediatrics residency that is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
2. International Medical Graduates (IMGs) are eligible to apply if they have completed an ACGME-accredited General Pediatrics residency.
3. Applicants must submit a complete Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) application.
4. Applicants must provide a United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) transcript with scores to date.
5. Applicants must meet the applicable California medical licensing requirements; a Postgraduate Training Authorization Letter (PTAL) or California Letter should be provided if applicable.

Stanford Medicine Health Care (SHC) is an academic health care system affiliated with Stanford University School of Medicine, providing advanced patient care, medical education, and research. Stanford Medicine Children’s Health and Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford provide specialized pediatric services and support advanced fellowship training. The Pediatric Pulmonary Fellowship is a three-year program designed to provide comprehensive training in the evaluation and management of respiratory disorders in infants, children, and adolescents. Fellows receive clinical experience in inpatient and outpatient pulmonary care, sleep medicine, cystic fibrosis, pulmonary function testing, bronchoscopy, lung transplantation, and other specialized areas. The program also emphasizes research, scholarly activities, teaching, and progressive clinical responsibility, preparing fellows for careers in pediatric pulmonary medicine and academic practice.

1. Submit the application through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Paper applications are not accepted.
2. ERAS opens for application submission in July, and early submission is strongly encouraged.
3. Submit the required documents: medical school transcript, three letters of recommendation, personal statement, current Curriculum Vitae, United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) transcript, and Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE)/Dean's Letter where applicable.
4. Applications must be complete by the October 19 deadline.
5. The Fellowship Program Director reviews all applications.
6. Selected applicants are invited for virtual interviews, generally conducted from September through early November.
7. During the interview, applicants meet with the Fellowship Program Director, current fellows, and other faculty members.
8. The program accepts two fellows per year and participates in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP).
9. Match results are available in December.
