Fellowship in Pediatric Nephrology

The Pediatric Nephrology Fellowship at the University of Colorado Anschutz School of Medicine is a 3-year ACGME-accredited fellowship designed to develop expertise in the diagnosis and management of kidney disease, hypertension, and urinary disorders in infants, children, and adolescents. The first year focuses primarily on clinical training, including inpatient and outpatient nephrology, dialysis, renal replacement therapies, kidney transplantation, and nephrology consultations, with electives in adult nephrology, transplant, critical care, and urology. The second and third years focus largely on research and scholarly activities, while fellows continue clinical care and develop expertise in chronic kidney disease management. Training also includes renal biopsies, multidisciplinary kidney care, teaching, quality improvement, epidemiology, biostatistics, and preparation for the American Board of Pediatrics Pediatric Nephrology certification examination.

5. Submit USMLE Parts 1, 2, and 3 scores, if taken

7. Submit 3 Letters of Recommendation, including one from the Residency Program Director
8. The program begins reviewing completed applications in August
9. Selected applicants are invited for virtual interviews
10. Interviews are offered in September and October
11. Participate in the NRMP Fall Match
12. For the 2027 cycle, ERAS applications may be submitted from July 1, 2026, and programs may begin reviewing applications from July 15, 2026
13. NRMP Match Day: December 2, 2026
