Fellowship in Pediatric Infectious Disease

1. Must have completed a Pediatrics residency program approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
2. Must have completed 36 months of ACGME-approved residency training in the United States or Canada to meet the California medical licensure requirement.
3. Must obtain an active California Medical License before the fellowship start date.
4. Must obtain a Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license by the start of the fellowship.
5. International Medical Graduates must provide an Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certificate, if applicable.

Stanford Medicine Health Care (SHC) is an academic health care system affiliated with Stanford University School of Medicine, providing advanced patient care, medical education, and research. Stanford Medicine Children’s Health, including Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford, provides specialized pediatric care and supports advanced fellowship training. The Pediatric Infectious Diseases Fellowship is a three-year program designed to provide comprehensive training in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of infectious diseases in children. Fellows receive clinical experience in inpatient and outpatient care, including infections in immunocompromised and transplant patients, antimicrobial stewardship, infection prevention and control, hospital epidemiology, global health, and diagnostic microbiology. The program also provides protected time for research and scholarly activities, preparing fellows for careers in pediatric infectious diseases, clinical practice, research, and academic medicine.

1. Submit the application through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).
2. Submit a completed ERAS application.
3. Submit the medical school transcript, including the Dean's Letter.
4. Provide at least three letters of recommendation, including one from the residency program director.
5. Submit United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) and/or Comprehensive Osteopathic Medical Licensing Examination (COMLEX) scores.
6. Submit an ECFMG certificate, if applicable.
7. Submit a current Curriculum Vitae, personal statement, and recent photograph.
8. Only complete applications are considered.
9. Selected applicants are invited for virtual interviews.
10. The program participates in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). For the July 2027 fellowship, the application deadline is September 30, 2026.
