Fellowship in Pediatric Hemato Oncology

The Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Fellowship at the University of Colorado Anschutz School of Medicine, Aurora is a three-year ACGME-accredited fellowship designed to prepare pediatricians for careers in academic pediatric hematology-oncology. The program combines comprehensive clinical training with research and scholarly development. The first year focuses primarily on clinical training in inpatient oncology, bone marrow transplantation and cellular therapies, hematology/consultation, and outpatient clinics, while the second and third years emphasize research, with approximately 80% protected time for clinical or laboratory research. Fellows also receive training in pediatric cancer, hematologic disorders, neuro-oncology, BMT/cellular and gene therapies, clinical procedures, multidisciplinary care, quality improvement, and academic medicine. Successful completion prepares fellows for eligibility for certification in the Pediatric Sub-Board of Hematology-Oncology.

1. Apply through the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS)
2. Complete and submit the fellowship application and required supporting documents through ERAS
3. Applications are reviewed by the fellowship program
4. Selected applicants are invited for an interview
5. The program conducts virtual interviews for the interview season
6. Applicants participate in the NRMP Fall Match
7. After the interview process, applicants submit their Rank Order List through NRMP
8. Successful applicants are matched to the fellowship through the NRMP process
9. The fellowship is a 3-year ACGME-accredited program
