Fellowship in Pediatric Hemato Oncology

• Completed ACGME-accredited Pediatrics residency (or equivalent)
• MD / MBBS (or equivalent medical degree)
• Eligible for Board certification / Board eligibility in Pediatrics
• Strong clinical background in pediatric patient care
• Interest in hematology, oncology, bone marrow transplant, or research
• Research experience / publications (preferred but not mandatory)
• For International Medical Graduates (IMGs):
• ECFMG certification required
• Eligible for J-1 or H-1B visa
• Good academic performance and strong recommendation letters

The Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Fellowship at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (JHUSOM), Baltimore is a comprehensive, ACGME-accredited training program with a standard duration of three years. The fellowship is designed to develop highly skilled clinician–scientists in the diagnosis and management of pediatric blood disorders and cancers. Conducted in collaboration with the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center and the National Cancer Institute (NCI), the program provides extensive clinical exposure to conditions such as leukemia, lymphoma, solid tumors, anemia, and bleeding disorders, along with advanced training in bone marrow transplantation and cellular therapies. The first year is primarily focused on intensive clinical training across inpatient and outpatient services, while the remaining period emphasizes research, clinical trials, and academic development. Fellows work in a multidisciplinary environment alongside experts in oncology, hematology, pathology, and radiology, gaining experience in cutting-edge treatments such as immunotherapy. The program aims to prepare fellows for leadership roles in academic medicine by combining strong clinical expertise with advanced research and teaching skills.
