About Course

The Pediatric Endocrinology Fellowship at NYU Grossman School of Medicine is a comprehensive three-year ACGME-accredited training program designed to develop future leaders in pediatric endocrinology, diabetes care, clinical investigation, and academic medicine. The fellowship combines rigorous clinical training with extensive research opportunities and faculty mentorship.
Fellows receive exposure to a diverse patient population through inpatient and outpatient services across multiple NYU Langone clinical sites. The broad clinical experience allows trainees to manage both common endocrine disorders and highly complex referral cases.
Clinical training encompasses the full spectrum of pediatric endocrine diseases including diabetes mellitus, growth disorders, thyroid disease, adrenal disorders, obesity, reproductive endocrinology, metabolic bone disease, and disorders of puberty and sexual development. Fellows progressively assume greater responsibility for patient management under expert supervision.
A major strength of the fellowship is its multidisciplinary approach. Fellows collaborate with specialists in genetics, pediatric surgery, pediatric neurosurgery, psychiatry, radiology, urology, oncology, and reproductive medicine to provide comprehensive care for complex patients.
The fellowship places a strong emphasis on scholarly activity and research. Fellows receive protected research time and work closely with experienced investigators on clinical, translational, or laboratory-based research projects. Each fellow is expected to complete a publishable research project during training.
Educational activities include endocrine case conferences, journal clubs, board review sessions, multidisciplinary conferences, grand rounds, quality improvement initiatives, and research seminars. These activities support both clinical excellence and academic development.
Fellows are actively involved in teaching medical students, pediatric residents, and other trainees. The program fosters the development of physician-educators and academic leaders in pediatric endocrinology.
Graduates are exceptionally well prepared for careers in academic medicine, pediatric endocrine practice, diabetes centers, clinical research, and leadership positions within major children's hospitals and healthcare systems.
