About Course

The Pain Medicine Fellowship at the University of Minnesota Medical School is a 1-year multidisciplinary fellowship providing advanced training in the evaluation and management of acute, chronic, and cancer-related pain. Fellows receive comprehensive clinical experience in outpatient pain management, interventional procedures, inpatient consultations, palliative care, addiction medicine, and regional anesthesia across multiple training sites. The program also emphasizes the biopsychosocial and interdisciplinary approach to pain, with regular didactic sessions, case conferences, journal clubs, and grand rounds. Approximately 45% of training is outpatient clinical care, 45% interventional procedures, and 10% inpatient consultations/palliative care.
