Fellowship in Pain Medicine

1. Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency before appointment.
2. A valid California medical license before starting the program.
3. Submission of the required examination reports and medical school documents.
4. International medical graduates must submit a medical school diploma or an officially sealed graduation verification letter, with a notarized English translation if applicable.
5. Selected candidates must pass a security background check.

The UCLA Pain Medicine Fellowship offers comprehensive training in outpatient pain management and inpatient pain consultation. Fellows receive clinical experience in chronic pain treatment, interventional pain procedures, neurology, psychiatry, and acute pain management. Training includes nerve blocks, epidural injections, radiofrequency ablation, neurostimulation devices, and infusion pumps. The program offers six postgraduate year-five positions annually and prepares fellows for the Pain Medicine board examination and future clinical practice.

1. Apply through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).
2. Application submission period: November through March.
3. Interviews take place from March through April; invitations are required.
4. Submit in-training examination score reports, American Board of Anesthesiology Basic Examination results (if applicable), Drug Enforcement Administration license (if practicing), California medical license (if applicable), and medical school diploma or graduation verification letter.
5. International medical graduates should include a notarized English translation of their medical school documents where applicable.
6. Selected candidates must pass a security background check.
7. Expected fellowship start date: August 1.
