Fellowship in Neuro muscular Medicine

The Neuromuscular Medicine Fellowship at the University of Minnesota Medical School is a one-year ACGME-accredited fellowship designed to train specialists in the diagnosis and management of neuromuscular disorders. Fellows receive diverse clinical training across three clinical locations and three EMG laboratories, with multidisciplinary exposure to adult and pediatric muscle disease, ALS, Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, neuropathy, and CIDP. Training also includes EMG, muscle/nerve/skin biopsies, autonomic studies, neuromuscular ultrasound, neuromuscular genetics, and physical medicine and rehabilitation. Fellows have opportunities to participate in clinical research involving ALS, muscular dystrophy, CMT, and CIDP.

1. Apply through the AANEM Neuromuscular Medicine Fellowship Portal.
2. Submit a curriculum vitae (CV).
3. Submit 3 letters of recommendation from faculty/mentors on letterhead with signatures, including one letter from the Director of the applicant’s most recent training program.
4. Submit a personal statement expressing interest in the University of Minnesota Neuromuscular Medicine Fellowship.
5. Submit official USMLE or COMLEX score report(s).
6. IMG applicants must submit a current ECFMG certificate.
7. Submit the application by March 1.
8. Applications are reviewed in March.
9. Competitive applicants are invited for an interview shortly thereafter.
