Fellowship in Neuro muscular Medicine

• Must have completed an ACGME-accredited residency in Neurology (or equivalent) before starting the fellowship
• Must hold an MD / DO or equivalent medical degree (including international graduates with valid credentials)
• Should be board-certified or board-eligible in Neurology (preferred)
• Must be eligible for medical licensure in Maryland (USA)
• For international applicants:
• ECFMG certification is required
• Must be eligible for visa sponsorship (usually J-1)
• Strong interest in neuromuscular disorders and electrophysiology (EMG, nerve conduction studies)
• Research experience is preferred but not mandatory

The Neuromuscular Medicine Fellowship at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (JHUSOM), Baltimore is a one-year ACGME-accredited clinical training program designed to provide advanced expertise in the diagnosis and management of neuromuscular disorders. The fellowship offers comprehensive hands-on experience in conditions affecting peripheral nerves, muscles, and neuromuscular junctions, including muscular dystrophies, neuropathies, myasthenia gravis, and motor neuron diseases. Fellows receive intensive training in electrodiagnostic techniques such as electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction studies, along with exposure to muscle and nerve biopsies. The program includes both outpatient specialty clinics and inpatient consultation services at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, allowing fellows to manage complex and rare cases. In addition to clinical training, fellows are encouraged to participate in research activities and academic development, preparing them for careers in advanced clinical practice and academic neurology.
