The Neuromuscular Fellowship at the University of Illinois College of Medicine (UICOM), Chicago is an ACGME-approved one-year advanced fellowship program designed to train neurologists in the diagnosis and management of disorders affecting the peripheral nerves, neuromuscular junction, and muscles. The program provides comprehensive clinical experience through neuromuscular clinics, inpatient consultations, EMG/Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS), and specialized services including neuromuscular disease and motor neuron disease clinics. Fellows receive advanced training in electrodiagnostic medicine, peripheral neuropathies, myopathies, neuromuscular junction disorders, ALS, neuromuscular pathology, genetics, and clinical research, preparing them for independent practice and eligibility for the ABPN Added Qualification in Neuromuscular Medicine.
