Fellowship in Musculoskeletal Radiology

The Musculoskeletal Radiology Fellowship at UC Irvine School of Medicine is a one-year comprehensive training program conducted at the Tibor Rubin VA Medical Center, designed to provide advanced expertise in both diagnostic and interventional musculoskeletal imaging. The fellowship offers extensive exposure to a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions through high-volume clinical practice, enabling fellows to develop strong skills in interpreting radiography, CT, and MRI scans of bones, joints, and soft tissues. In addition to diagnostic training, the program emphasizes hands-on experience in image-guided procedures, including arthrography, joint aspirations, soft tissue and bone biopsies, as well as fluoroscopy- and ultrasound-guided pain management injections, with additional exposure to procedures such as vertebroplasty. Fellows also engage in academic activities, multidisciplinary case discussions, teaching, and research, ensuring they graduate as well-rounded specialists prepared for careers in both academic and private practice radiology.
