The program focuses on pain and symptom management, goals-of-care discussions, communication skills, ethical decision-making, hospice care, and holistic patient-centered care. Fellows receive multidisciplinary training with physicians, advanced practice nurses, social workers, pharmacists, and chaplains while rotating through various clinical settings including UCI Medical Center, VA Long Beach Healthcare System, VITAS Hospice, and affiliated hospitals.
