Fellowship in Global Neurology

• MD, DO, or equivalent medical degree.
• Completion of an accredited Neurology residency.
• Board eligible or board certified in Neurology.
• Eligible for Illinois medical licensure.
• Demonstrated interest in global health and neurology.
• Submission of a CV, personal statement, letters of recommendation, and any additional materials requested by the program.
• Successful completion of interviews and credentialing requirements.

The Global Neurology Fellowship at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine is designed to prepare neurologists to address the growing burden of neurological disease worldwide. Fellows combine advanced clinical training with research and field experience in global health settings, gaining insight into the challenges of delivering neurologic care across diverse healthcare systems. The curriculum emphasizes health equity, implementation science, epidemiology, and capacity building in underserved communities. Fellows work closely with faculty mentors and international collaborators on projects aimed at improving neurological outcomes and strengthening local healthcare infrastructure. Opportunities exist to participate in educational initiatives, develop sustainable clinical programs, and conduct scholarly research. Through a combination of domestic and international experiences, fellows acquire the leadership and advocacy skills necessary for careers in academic global neurology and international health.
