Fellowship in Child Neurology

• Hold an MD, DO, or equivalent medical degree.
• Meet ACGME eligibility requirements for Child Neurology Residency.
• Be eligible for a temporary Illinois medical license.
• Apply through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).
• Submit a current Curriculum Vitae (CV).
• Submit a Personal Statement.
• Submit Medical School Transcript and Dean's Letter (MSPE).
• Submit USMLE or COMLEX examination scores.
• Submit at least three letters of recommendation (preferably including one from a neurologist or child neurologist).
• Participate in interviews if shortlisted

The Child Neurology Residency Program at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine is a five-year ACGME-accredited program conducted in partnership with Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago, one of the nation's leading pediatric academic medical centers. The program accepts four residents annually and integrates pediatric and adult neurology training throughout the curriculum to maximize clinical exposure from the beginning of residency. Residents learn from a multidisciplinary team of more than 35 child neurologists, over 15 advanced practice providers, and numerous nurses, genetic counselors, social workers, and allied health professionals. The curriculum includes extensive experience in inpatient neurology, neurocritical care, epilepsy monitoring, outpatient continuity clinics, neurophysiology, neurogenetics, movement disorders, neuromuscular medicine, neuro-oncology, neuroradiology, sleep medicine, rehabilitation, and pediatric psychiatry. Residents also participate in weekly didactic conferences, EEG interpretation sessions, neuroradiology rounds, journal clubs, Grand Rounds, and multidisciplinary case discussions. More than seven months of elective time allows residents to tailor training to individual career goals while engaging in clinical or translational research with dedicated faculty mentorship. Graduates are well prepared for careers in academic child neurology, clinical practice, or advanced subspecialty fellowships.
